Mrs Day is our teacher and Mrs Neale and they are supported by Mrs Mitton and Mrs Potts. Year 4 is a fantastic year when we are really settling in to life in KS2 (Juniors!). We have a lot of fun and throw ourselves into learning with a ‘can do’ attitude. We our partnered with a St Peter’s CE School in Rochdale who visit us and we visit them in the year. This year we will be staying overnight in Rochdale to compare and contrast the area with our own town.
Mr Watson provides support through the school support our children. During the lunch time session he offers sports opportunities for our children in the Infants and Juniors.

Our children are continuing to build up their cross country skills on Fridays. Hopefully the children will get a few runs in over the Christmas break.

The children in Year 3 have made angel pictures which have been displayed all around Kirkby. Each day in the run up to Christmas a new angel will be displayed. Each angel is displayed with a letter. Collect the letters to find a Christmas message.
Everyone joined Mrs Smith and Mrs Day for a parade around Kirkby. We dressed in our pyjamas and pretended it was the night before Christmas. Despite the rain we had a lovely time.

The Year 4 rugby team took a trip to Casterton, Sedbergh Prep to compete in the Area Rugby Development Tournament. We have announced the 20 children who have got a place at the new Fit for Sport club after school on Tuesdays after half term.
Our first Governors meeting took place recently beginning the year following a very successful year. The Governors have looked at our school Improvement Plan for the forthcoming year and are preparing for another productive year.
From Year 1 coming into school as Superheroes, Year 2 designing transport and sharing their presentations, to culinary delights throughout the Juniors, the projects have been wonderful. Our children have had a wonderful time at the Westmorland Show, meeting HRH The Countess of Wessex. Year 4, 5 and 6 attended throughout the day which was mercifully dry for the majority of the time.
