Mrs Day is our teacher and Mrs Neale and they are supported by Mrs Mitton and Mrs Potts. Year 4 is a fantastic year when we are really settling in to life in KS2 (Juniors!). We have a lot of fun and throw ourselves into learning with a ‘can do’ attitude. We our partnered with a St Peter’s CE School in Rochdale who visit us and we visit them in the year. This year we will be staying overnight in Rochdale to compare and contrast the area with our own town.
Mrs Potts works to support children with specific needs within the class, delivering a range of interventions.
Mr Watson provides support through the school support our children. During the lunch time session he offers sports opportunities for our children in the Infants and Juniors.
I am married to Steve and have two children, Ellie and Isaac. In my spare time I love being outdoors and enjoy mountain biking, running and skiing. I love working with children as no two days are ever the same and you get to see the children grow and develop.
My name is Andrea Day. I have two children aged 17 and 21. Martha, my youngest, is at QES and currently helping at After School Club. Kim is at Newcastle University studying Heritage. I trained in Exeter and then spent six years teaching in west London before moving to France (Strasbourg) for three years with my husband’s work. I have four children, the first two being born in France. We moved to Cumbria 18 years ago and all four of my children have been through QES and the […]
Well done to our U9s cricket team who played Westville House, Cundall Manor and Sedbergh in the Cricket Festival hosted by Sedbergh Prep. Our team won two and lost two of their matches. Excellent play team!
We have been heating materials to find out how they change. We held a piece of chocolate in our hands and read a long poem about chocolate by Michael Rosen. Whilst we read, the chocolate slowly started to melt, changing from a solid to a liquid. We noted that water changed from a liquid to […]
Well done to our Year 3 and 4 teams who represented school in the local schools Hockey festival today. Congratulations to both teams and especially the Year 3 team who have got through to the next round.
We are pleased to announce that we will have a visit from the founders of the Noah Initiative on March 13th to hear about the work they are doing in Kenya. Mrs Neale recently went out to Kenya to visit the project and shared her experiences.

Year 4 have started to explore the work of the Ancient Greek playwrights. We have had a go at writing our own comedies and tragedies and we have started to read about Odysseus and his famous adventures. She brought in a basket of provisions that rationing provided for a grown man for a week. There were a few slices of bacon, some corned beef, a little margerine, butter, sugar […]
Well done to all of our children who took part in the school concert at the end of term. We had a wonderful array of instruments played by a large amount of children from Year 2 to Year 6. Our choir also sang two songs with superb harmonies. Congratulations to all involved.
