Year 2 is a fantastic class! We are taught by Miss Loy and Mrs Neale. It is supported by Mrs Mason.
We are a very enthusiastic class and we are always keen to learn new skills through exciting topics and experiences. We always have lots of questions to ask and explore. We are very active and enjoy learning indoors and outdoors.
We all have important jobs and we take our responsibilities very seriously!
I have worked in St Mary’s since 2013 – I started working here before I had even left Sixth Form! I work in Breakfast Club, After School Club, as a midday supervisor and in KS1 and KS2 I love dancing! I started at the age of three and have danced in Blackpool Winter Gardens, The Royal […]
I have two children who both came to St Mary’s. I started as a parent helper eleven (!) years ago when my oldest was in nursery and now work across the school supporting a number of children and staff!
I am married to the long suffering Danny, who I met at University. We are lucky enough to have two daughters, Mollie and Rosie, at QES. They seem to take up all our spare time and money with their very expensive hobbies! I am on Oxenholme Pony Club committee and run the Summer camp as […]
We have been celebrating Down Syndrome Awareness Day with Andrew Ridding joining us to hand out awards today. We have all been wearing odd socks and discussing Down Syndrome in classes. Thank you for your support.
Thank you so much for supporting Red Nose Day! We have had a great time together for a very important charity.
What a lovely day to spend exploring our school grounds and enjoying the warmth of the sunshine. Our daffodils have started to flower and we have had a lot of fun this week.
Initially we encouraged all of our children to learn new spellings which were taken from the year expectations. After a fun spelling bee in classes each year group put forward finalists for our school spelling bee. The whole school came together to celebrate learning spellings. We had a wonderful time with what turned out to […]
What a great time STEAM Club have had this week – super tower challenges in Year 2. There have been straw tower and lego towers built – and some super team work and communication going on!
We have had some fun in our Class Spelling Bee Challenges. Our whole purpose is to provide a fun opportunity to learn spellings. It is so motivating for children to know they are making progress in their spelling. It is very special to see our children feeling more confident as they improve their spellings and […]
Our Year 2 children have made houses to recreate the Great Fire of London. After carefully making the houses the children walked to the Kirkby Lonsdale Fire Station. At the Firs station they met Mr Bradshaw who helped recreate the moment the firs started. The fire soon spread, lighting all of the houses in Pudding […]
This term we will be exploring a whole range of inspiring women from Jane Austin, Frida Kahlo, Marie Chiver, Rosa Parks and many other women who we believe will inspire all of our children. We are exploring their endeavours and seeing how we can learn from them in our own lives in 2019 and beyond.
