As part of our dyslexia support we offer an opportunity to take part in ‘Think Tank’ this allows our children to explore dyslexia and find ways to organise our thoughts and ideas and to build self confidence. One key aspect of this has been coordinating a campaign to support our local Food Bank in Kendal. In doing so we have planned a campaign to tell everyone about the food bank and encourage families to support the food bank. This has had a dual benefit and has enabled our Think Tank pupils to take responsibility and organise and coordinate this campaign on behalf of our school.
Pupils and families now regularly bring food each week (in the main entrance) to support the Kings Food Bank in Kendal. We believe this is a vital way of looking after those in our own local area who need help and support.
