Visit to St Peter’s Primary

Year 4 have been to our partner school in Rochdale, St Peter’s CE Primary.  We visited the town hall which had peregrines nesting in the tower. We also went to the Neeli Mosque and learn so much about Islam.  We then walked along the canal and explored Rochdale’s industrial past.  Later we then spent time with out friends in Rochdale and discovered about the founding of the COOP and fairly traded produce.  We are looking forward to spending time with our friends when they visit us on the 15th June.

Learning about Islam

Year 2 and 4 have had a fascinating time working with Imran Kotwal, from the Muslim Learner Service who spent time discussing the Islamic faith. The children had so many questions and really had a creative and meaningful lesson.

Spring Music Concert

After a superb Easter Service this morning we have had a packed programme of events at the Easter concert. This was another chance within the year to gain a performance opportunity prior to the  Summer concert. Over 62 children took part today in the concert and various children were unable to play today who would normally have performed.  What a superb opportunity to celebrate the musical talent we have in school. Congratulations to all involved and thank you to our parents and family who attended to support the children. Thank you to Miss Loy and all of the music teachers who teach our children each week.

Fairy Tale Worlds – Year 1

We built fairy gardens using all the bits and pieces we could find. The children were highly creative and very inspired. Their gardens got bigger and bigger with ponds, baths, bird feeders, zip wires and long paths. The children even wrote notes for their fairies …and the fairies wrote back, overnight. The children were very excited to write back to their own fairy!
