A new water tray

Year 1 wish to send a BIG thank you to the PTA and all the parents who have raised money for us to buy some new equipment. Our new water tray and jugs, bowls and funnels will help us to learn about capacity. We will be able to learn about filling and emptying, litres and millilitres.

Working as a team in Class Worship

Year 5 were focussing on working as a team; supporting and trusting each other; listening to each other and being creative at the same time!

They had to work in groups of four and complete challenges. One of them was to spell out words as a team. Can you guess what this word was?

Erin, Ellie, Hermione and Joseph all worked collaboratively and sensibly, showing real team work.

Stick Man activities

We read the book “Stick Man” by Julia Donaldson, we have made our own Stick Men are we are going to hang them from the branches we painted. It was really good fun painting the branches in bright colours, we had to work together to make sure we didn’t leave any gaps. By the time we finished we were covered in as much paint as the branches!

Rain Dance

If we lived in Africa, close to the Equator, we might be desperate for rain. Unlike in our country, some people in Africa find it very difficult to find water. They will be thirsty, their crops and gardens will die and turn brown. In Year 1 we created rain dances to call for the rain. We made up rhyming chants, added dance moves and then used percussion instruments to add rhythm. Then we performed for each other and we all joined in. WOW!

debugging

This is really tricky! We are trying to debug an algorithm!

Esmee tells all about Sweden…

This morning Esmee returned to school modestly, as always,  after a long and tiring few days away in Sweden. She was selected to go on the training camp and compete at the World Judo competition. Today Esmee showed us the videos of her competitions and talked us through the rules! Year 5 got to ask questions about what it is like to be competing at International level, which is very inspiring. We got to see her Bronze medal that she won and her special bag, bought for her by Olympic medallist Sophie Cox.  We are all very proud of her, and wish her luck as she starts to train later this month with the British squad. Exciting times ahead!

Money,money,money!

Year 3 have been buying and selling!

Using Adverbs

We are acting out scenes from The Hodgeheg and using adverbs. We are trying to be quiet so we don’t disturb SATs!
