Annual Review – Parents Information

We have published our annual review. This document provides a short review of the school year and our improvement priorities for the  school in the coming year. We have had a very exciting year and we look forward to another exciting time starting in September.  Please read through our review and share some of the experiences our children have had this year.

Start of Term

We are really looking forward to welcoming our children to school on Monday 5th September.  We are especially looking forward to saying hello to our new children who are starting in Nursery or who are new to school!

Our Year 4 and 5 children will be attending the Westmorland Show on Thursday 8th September.

Hockey Fest

Have you been watching the Olympic Hockey? Maybe you have been inspired to go along and play or support our local players? Why not give Hockey a try?

Music Concert – Concert Images

We celebrated our many musicians who entertained us this year superbly with their huge range of pieces played on a vast range of instruments. The document below captures some of the musicians who played in the concert as a flavour of the lovely atmosphere in front of parents and our children. Anyone who has been inspired to play an instrument as a result of the concert might like to contact the school office for further details of our peripatetic music teachers who join us each week to teach our children.

Head Boy and Girl Poem and Speech

I would like to thank our Head Boy and Head Girl this year for their wonderful contribution to school. They have taken the responsibility wonderfully. I was exceptioanlly impressed with Emma’s poetry reading in our Leaver’s Service and everything she has done this year holding herself with grace and humility.  I have been very impressed with Scott and his quiet but energetic approach to life.  Well Done to you both!

A copy of Scott’s speech is below which was presented at the Leaver’s Service.

Robin Hood Performance

We have delivered three superb performances of ‘Robin Hood’ which was absolutely wonderful – Well done to all of the great singers, actors and performers who took part from Year 3 to Year 6.  We have been able to perform the play in the Harlequin theatre at QES which has made the production a very profressional event. Thank you to QES for their hospitality.  We have really appreciated parental and family support!

Music Concert

We have held our end of term concert which was a wonderful showcase of such a diverse range of musicians. With over 60 children performing this was a wonderful morning of entertainment. It was lovely to see children throughout our junior classes taking part in brass, violins, flute, clarinet, guitars, accordion, clarinet and a wealth of pianists. Thank you to all of our chidlren – you should be very proud of your achievements.

Swim Safe

Well done to Year 5 who have been learning about open water swimming and swimming safely. The children took part in a water safety session on Windermere. What a wonderful experience and a great opportunity to enjoy our beautiful county and learning to stay safe at the same time.
