European languages day

We had a fantastic time learning all about Scotland. We tried some Scottish treats, learnt where it was on the map, made Loch Ness Monster sock puppets and did our own Highland games and lots more.

Indian Dance Superstars

Year 5 have been busy dancing away the whole day on Tuesday. They took part in an Indian Dance workshop with Meneesha. They learned about three different types of dance and the culture behind them. At the end of the day, they performed to their parents and some of the children in school. It was wonderful to see, they wowed the crowd!

We explored “Germany” in YN and YR

In YN and YR we explored “Germany” on European Languages’ Day. We dressed up in black, red and yellow – the colours of the German flag. We also made pretzels, printed giant flags, learned to count and say “hello” in German and made cuckoo clocks.

European Languages Day

Our children have had a wonderful day exploring different languages and countries. They have learned where countries are in the world. The languages spoken in that country as well as the capital cities.  They have explored activities to celebrate that country as well as dress up in the colours of the country.

In school we have made a colourful display for all parents to see when they are in school this week.

Thank you to everyone who made the day a vibrant and exciting learning experience.

Comic Art Festival – Please Vote

Our children have been hard at work preparing for their contribution to the Comic Arts Festival. Mrs Day has been working on presenting the children’s work which is displayed at Highgate’s Vets in Kendal. Please go and have a look at the fantastic window display!  Very well done to our Year 1 children.  It would be great if we could all encourage our Year 1 children and visit the window and congratulate them!

Please help us and vote for the window.

Excellent Hockey Practice

What a superb hockey practice today with our coach Danny Harper who explored reverse stick with us today. We worked really hard both in lessons and then built on this in Hockey Club after school. Well done Year 5 and 6!

We’ve been making healthy snack. We thought about the fruits we could use to make traffic light colours. Carefully, we chopped, peeled, halved, positioned and tasted. Yum! Yum!
