Anne Frank Trust UK
- Voices for Equality Programme:
- Students explored historic and modern forms of discrimination.
- They developed public speaking, critical thinking, and peer education skills.
- Outcomes include increased confidence, empathy, and commitment to equality.
This year the Anne Frank Exhibition provided a powerful platform for children to engage deeply with Anne’s story. By exploring themes of antisemitism, discrimination, and resilience, children were able to:
- Understand the dangers of prejudice and the importance of standing up against it.
- Develop empathy by connecting with Anne’s personal experiences.
- Become advocates for values like tolerance, respect, and equality through peer-led projects, presentations, and creative expressions.

Cancer has affected our community in various ways, with various family members experiencing cancer and also the recent death of our colleague Cath Billington who died of a Brain Tumour. We have always supported cancer charities for many years, specifically St John’s Hospice, but we are passionate as a school to support the work they do for our community and the wider community. Each year we hold a sponsored run to raise funds for the charity and also other events eg cake sales to support cancer charities. Our children are often inspired to fund raise individually for various charities also.

We take the approach of Thinking Globally and Acting Locally. With this in mind, our children are often advocates for endangered animals which our children are passionate about. Various classes donate their funds and research about protected species, sponsoring through the World Wildlife Fund. Equally, the children think locally and collect litter on their visits and ensure the school does litter the environment. Our community know how important recycling is also, having recycling monitors to collect recycling and also to advocate for minimising waste.
We are always keen to ensure we care for those in our community, our school bring food to support the Community Cupboard. Many families value the many food parcels we are able to distribute each holiday. We also visit our local care home, Brant Howe to sing with the residents.
