Year 6 science – the circulatory system

Is there a better day than Valentine’s day to play with hearts? The hearts in question, however, came from Dales Butchers, were still attached to the lungs and trachea and were helping our understanding of how these organs keep humans and other animals alive. We have looked at and created diagrams of hearts and lungs, but it really helps our understanding of how they are linked together when you see them in real life. We can also see how the blood vessels work and create the fantastically complex maze of tubes that deliver blood exactly where it is needed. Its fair to say we have some budding vets of the future – there was no holding back at all!
