South Lakes Pupil Parliament

Our Year 6 School Councillors represented St Mary’s School at the SLPP recently. They joined the various schools in the Milnthorpe Cluster of Schools at the Netherwood Hotel for a superb day. The children learned how to communicate with inspirational visitors, Adrian and Lauren from (https://www.imagininghistory.co.uk/) and were taught by Rachel Dodgson from Parliament Education Outreach Service (https://learning.parliament.uk/outreach/) about campaigning.  The children have presented their ideas for improving the environment by reducing the amount of plastic bottles used in schools.

This will be a focus for their work over the year. If there presentations were anything to go by, they will definitely make a difference in school.
