Lego League Competition

Recently, some of the older children attended the South Cumbria First Lego League competition in Barrow in Furness. There were 17 teams taking part and this was our school’s first year competing. The children have been working towards this for several weeks, after school and at lunchtimes. They had to deliver a presentation about an innovative idea for their school, compete in a team communication activity, present and explain their robot and participate in a robot game involving some complex programming skills. We were very proud of the positive comments about their skills, teamwork and of course their wonderful manners. A big thank you to Tony Gill for coming in and supporting us in this initial entry. It is something that has inspired the children and developed their confidence for future challenges. It was very pleasing to find out that they came 3rd out of 17 teams in the ‘Robot Game’; a truly magnificent result in their first ever year competing. Well done to all of the children involved.
